Bert Vescolani, President & CEO of Denver Zoo, will share what’s happening at Denver Zoo, where they are headed, and how you can participate.

With over two decades of executive leadership positions in both nonprofit and for-profit organizations, Bert Vescolani, has been the President and CEO of Denver Zoo since September 2018. Bert has held several CEO roles at numerous scientific and zoological institutions. Denver Zoo has two campuses comprised of over 600 acres. The 80-acre main campus in Denver and 567-acre Preserve in Weld county are home to 3000 animals representing 500 species. With an annual budget of over $76M, organization of more than 400 employees, 600 volunteers, and over 1.5 million visits annually, Denver Zoo is a cherished cultural destination.
A self-described “educator at heart,” Vescolani broke into the zoo and aquarium industry in 1991 as curator of education at John G. Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, where he worked his way up the ranks over the course of 14 years, eventually reaching the position of senior vice president of aquarium collection and education.
Bert has served on various local, national, and international boards, served as a corporate director in the beer industry, and is a graduate of Michigan State University.
This is our Annual Meeting pursuant to our Bylaws and is for DEPC members only (no guests).
Drinks and appetizers will be served outside on the patio, and we will move inside for announcements and the presentation.
Parking is available anywhere in the Denver Country Club parking lot. The main entrance is on the northeast side. Business attire is required. The Denver Country Club does not permit cell phone usage on the property.
